Verna A. Lane, 79, of Hustontown died on Monday, Dec 5, 1983 in the Extended Care Unit of the Fulton County Medical Center. Mrs. Lane has been a patient at the center for the past 18 months.
She was born Nov 21, 1904 in Jacobs, Huntingdon County, the daughter of James and Margaret (Stake) Park. She was united in marriage to William Lane who preceded her in death in July 1969.
She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Wayne (Dora) Keebaugh, of Hustontown, Mrs. Robert (Gretchen) Gwaltney, of San Antonio, TX, Lois Bard, of Star Route North, McConnellsburg, Luella Keebaugh, of Shade Gap, and Carol Love, of Robertsdale; three sons: William and Benjamin, of Hustontown, and Walter, of Star Route North McConnellsburg; 32 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sisters: Mrs. Nettie (Dell), of Mapleton Depot, Mrs. Mildred Park, of Shirleysburg and Mrs. Hazel Cornelius, of Three Springs; and four brothers: Earl and Chester, of Mapleton Depot, Roy of Altoona, and Paul, of Bedford.
She was a member of the Hustontown Church of God.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec 8, in the Hustontown Church of God, the Rev.Larry Patrick officiating. Interment will be made in the Cornelius Chapel Cemetery in Knightsville. Friends may call at the Glenn N. Kesselring Funeral Home in Hustontown on Wednesday from 2-9 p.m.
