Ray Allison Bevington was born June 12, 1989 at Canton, Ohio and died March 11, 1990 at Largo, Florida. He was the son of Charles P. and Sadie Luella Brooks Bevington. He was first married to Maria V. Varrecchia and they had one son, Robert R. Bevington. He was married second to Cornelia A. Austin on November 7, 1936.
He was a former athlete at Central High School, lettering in all four major sports, and held the mile record for over 10 years. He spent his life in the laundry and dry cleaning business, retiring from Davies-Young Soap Co. in Dayton, moving to Largo, Fla. He was past president of the Cleveland Suds Club, belonged to the Acacia Lodge 651 F & AM in Lyndhurst, was a member of Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cleveland, and past member of the Al Koran Temple of the Shrine. In Florida he was past secretary for the Society of American Magicians of the Carl Rosini Assembly 82.
He leaves his son, Robert R. (Viola M.) Bevington; grandchildren, Dr. Robert C. (Rita) Bevington; granddaughters, Barbara (Dana) Myers, and Beth Ann; and three great-grandchildren.
