MILO - Elizabeth C. Decker, 84, died May 18, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 10, 1924, in Oakfield, the daughter of Norman and Beatrice (Van Tassel) Clark. Betty graduated from Oakfield High School, where she was talented in tap dancing, basketball and public speaking. During World War II she was a precision worker at Pratt & Whitney, East Longmeadow and Hartford, Conn. Betty attended the Methodist church, where she taught Sunday school and was a nursery attendant. She also cleaned and repaired toys for children in need. When her children were young, Betty was a den mother to an energetic group of Cub Scouts. Betty had a great sense of humor. She loved life and believed in living it to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling and shopping with her daughters; and granddaughter, Sam-antha Luciano. Betty loved family picnics and gatherings. She often challenged her family to cards, Jeopardy or Trivia games. She was also an avid crossword puzzle enthusiast. Betty was proud of her tatting skills and was pleased to have a sample of her work on display in Scotland. Most of all, Mom will be remembered for her love, care and support. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Decker and wife, Madeline, of Sebec, Charlie Decker of Brownville Junction, Linda Rhoda and husband, Cedric, of Milo and Patty Estes and husband, Al, of Milo; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children, many special nieces and nephews. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Neil Decker; and two brothers, Merle and Stanley Clark. A heartfelt thank you is extended to Dr. Kathleen Thibault, the staff both at Mayo Regional Hospital and Hibbard Nursing Home, and to the Office of Elder Services homemakers, for all their special care and kindness during Betty's illness. A graveside service will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 23, in the family lot at Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev. Michele St. Cyr officiating. After the service, friends and family are invited to share in a celebration of Betty's life at Pleasant Park Community Center, Milo.
