Polo – Doris L. Ethridge, 73, of Polo died Wednesday October 12, 1994 in CGH Medical Center in Sterling. A daughter of August and Tina (Meyer) Gerdes, she was born September 19, 1921 in Milledgeville. She and Ivan Ethridge were married April 27, 1943 in Milledgeville.

She had been employed at Pilgrim's Café and Central Stamping in Polo prior to Micro Switch in Freeport, from which she retired. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society, Milledgeville.

Surviving are her husband,; two sons, Sheldon (Marilyn) Ethridge of Rockton and James (Veree Kepley) Ethridge of Joliet; and three grandchildren. Survivors also include four sisters, Margaret Albers and Elsie (Elmer) Pilgrim, both of Milledgeville; Florence Webster of Davis and Irene (Herman) Ukena of Polo; and four brothers, George Gerdes of Lanark and Robert Gerdes of Tampico. (Transcriber's Note: It doesn't name the other two brothers.) Preceding her in death were three sisters and four brothers.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran church with the Rev. Michael Lawyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.
