Marian was born in Port Arthur, Texas. She grew up in Port Arthur and Groves, graduating from Port Neches High School in 1953. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing in Port Arthur-class of 1956. A Registered Nurse she worked for various doctors in Jefferson County before becoming an Instructor of Vocational Nursing at Lamar. She taught there until the debelitating effects of Multiple Sclerosis caused her retirement from the profession in 1968. She fought the rages of this disease for the next 40 years with a courage and determination beyond description fighting until her last days. Always hoping for a cure she worked with the MS Society as long as her health allowed. Today family members honor her in the MS150 and other MS events.
Survivors include her sons, Jim Andrews and his wife Darlene, Richard Andrews and his wife Veronica; grandchildren, Richard Andrews, Jr., Ronnie Howard, Jon Andrews and his wife Lyndsay, Chris Andrews and his wife Sara; brothers, Roland Richardson, Gilbert Dale Richardson Carlos Richardson, Bill Richardson; and sister, Llewellyn McBride; also many nieces and nephews, in-laws, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Andrews, Jr.with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage on Dec 1, 2006.
