John Milton Compton, 79, Fayetteville resident and former owner of Peter Pan Cleaners, died Oct. 22 in Veteran's Hospital. He was born Jan.19, 1890 at Doyle, Ark., the son of Marcus M. and Sarah Elizabeth Epton Compton.A veteran of World War I, he was member of Central United Methodist Church, Men's Wesley Bible Class and Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Whitlow Compton, to whom he was married in 1923, of the Home; one son, W.L. Compton of Fayetteville; one step-son John Rodgers of Fort Worth, Texas;one brother, Verdo Compton of Vallejo, Calif; one sister, Ora Humphreys of Port Arthur, Texas;four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in the Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Joel Cooper officiating.

Honorary pallbears will be members of the Men's Wesley Bible Class.
