Clifford Puffer was the only son of William & Gertrude Puffer. He was 18 years old and working on the Lobdell farm when he was struck and killed by a train returning to the farm from a dance at night. He typically rode the freight train to Ogdensburg and it is believed he fell off between the cars. He was survived by his parents and sister, Laura. He had attended school in DeKalb Junction and was well liked by all who knew him.
