DeKalb Junction—William G. Puffer, 84, native of the town of DeKalb, and resident of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the past three years, died in a hospital in that city early Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 31, 1961). He had been ill since Thanksgiving and hospitalized the past two weeks.

The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Denesha funeral home here with the Rev. Frank J. Brown of Gouverneur, assisted by the Rev. Henry Fisher, pastor of the DeKalb Junction Methodist Church, officiating.

The body will be placed in the vault in the Rensselaer Falls cemetery, pending interment in the spring in the DeKalb Union cemetery.

Bearers will be Donald Bush, Donald Stacy, Leon Gardner, Edward Piercy, Carlton Holland and Roscoe Conklin.

Surviving Mr. Puffer are a daughter, Mrs. Carl (Laura) Murphy of Fort Lauderdale with whom he made his home; two sisters, Miss Marion Puffer of this village and Mrs. Cora Perry of San Lorenzo, Calif.; and two half-brothers, Ernest Puffer of this village and Ralph Puffer of Canton.

A son, Clifford Puffer, died Apr. 6, 1929.

Mr. Puffer was born in the Town of DeKalb on Dec. 17, 1876, the son of Louis and Matilda Graham Puffer. On Sept. 12, 1900, he married Miss Libbie Moncrief, who died June 8, 1902. No children were born of this marriage.

On Oct. 5, 1904, Mr. Puffer married Miss Gertrude Stone of Kendrew. She died Oct. 2, 1951. Mr. Puffer was a former member of the DeKalb Junction Grange and. of the DeKalb Junction Presbyterian Church.
