Casper had been about town the greater part of the day before in good health. When his daughter called him for breakfast at 7:00 she discovered him dead in his bedroom. He had only been dead a few moments.

Casper Fett one of the old residents of Lee County died here at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Billman. He was about town the day before and died in his sleep.
Born in Oberhessen Germany, May 20, 1824 (tombstone says 17 May 1825) and came to America with his parents in 1837, location in Ohio. He came to Lee Co. West Point Iowa in 1839. He married Margaret Abel in 1847 and she died 1892 (her tombstone says born June 14, 1827 in Hueringer Bavaria Germany and died Jany 5, 1892) They had 10 children Peter, Elizabeth, Jacob, Catharine, Henry, Theodore, David, August, Rudolph and John.
