Ida Warkentin was born December 1, 1892, in Oklahoma, daughter of Jacob Warkentin and Maria Lahrmann. Ida married Daniel 'Dan' Dalke who was born in 1891. Dan died April 1942 in Geary and was buried there in the Geary Cemetery. Ida died May 5, 1979 in Geary, and was buried beside her husband. Ida and Dan had two children: Phillip Howard Dalke and Daniel Dalke Jr. A little bit about Ida's parents....
Jacob was born April 19, 1860 in Russia and died 1933 and buried in Gotebo, Oklahoma Cemetery, and Maria Lahrmann, born 1866 in Poland and died 1945 and buried in Gotebo Cemetery. Jacob made the Oklahoma Run of 1889 into Unassigned Lands and settled on a homestead in Okarche in the Darlington area. A Mennonite Mission had been established at Darlington and that is where he met his future wife. Jacob and Maria married July 3, 1890 in Darlington, Indian Territory. Sometime between 1902 and 1904, Jacob and Maria purchased a farm and moved east of Gotebo. In about 1906, Jacob moved his family into Gotebo where he operated a meat market. Jacob and Maria had seven children. Ida was the second eldest.
