George was born on May 15, 1925, in Riverdale, The Bronx, New York, at his grandmother's house. He finished high school at the Hill School early in 1942. Due to an eye injury in his youth, he entered the American Field Service during World War II and drove an ambulance in Burma. Graduated from the University of Maine in 1949 with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture. Bought a farm in Millbrook, New York, and raised a grand champion herd of Black Angus Beef Cattle from 1950-1979 when he dispersed the herd. Married Nancy Foster in 1950 in Portland, Maine. They had one son George W. Perkins III, born 1951; and one daughter, born in 1953, Jennifer Perkins (Randy) Speers. He moved to Park City, Utah, where he died at home on June 12, 2008. He loved to travel and see the world. Enjoyed his friends at North Summit Senior Center and was a real "trooper". Many thanks to Kathy and Kevin Wilde, Cindy McGehee, Patricia Constable, Mary Ann Clare, Nancy Pollard, and Georgene Heare and the staff at Access Hospice for all their loving care through the years.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy F. Perkins; his daughter, Jennifer P. Speers; his sisters, Penelope P. Wilson and Anne P. Cabot (Frank); seven nieces; and one nephew. Preceded in death by his parents, George W. Perkins and Linn M. Perkins, and son, George W. Perkins III.
