Raymond D Wolfe, 62 of Rt 8 died at Glens Falls Hospital March 12 after a long illness. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Franklin M & Helen D (Burtnett) Wolfe. He served in the US Arny during the Korean Conflict and escaped from being a prisoner of war while there. He was also the recipient of the Purple Heart for wounds he received. On July 27, 1957 he married the former Irma L Warrington in Sodom. Ray worked as an equiptment operator at Peckham Materials in Chestertown, and was most recently as a self employed carpenter and mason in the Pottersville area. He enjoyed woodworking and drawing. Two brothers George L Wolfe and Franklin M Wolfe JR and one sister Dorothy Bradford all died before him. Survivors include his two daughters Rae Lynn Wolfe and Rhonica L Wolfe both of North Creek, and three sons, Darrell R Wolfe and his wife, Becky of Billings, MT. Ricky D Wolfe and his wife Kelly, of Pottersville and Rodney G Wolfe and his wife Wendy, of North Creek. One brother William E Wolfe of North Creek and five sisters Helen E Brown of North Creek, Ella Mae Sears of North Bennington, VT, Charlotte Wissell of Lake Luzerne, Florence Renaud of Gansevoort, Alice Plany of Warrensburg, 7 Grandchildren, ReAnna Wolfe, Michael Wolfe, Sabrina Wolfe, Brittany Wolfe, Alexander McAlonen, Anthony McAlonen and Skye Allard. Funeral services will be held at 11 am March 16 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, North River with the Rev. Dick E Dale Pastor of the North Creek Seventh Day Adventist Church of North Creek officiating. Spring burial will be at Griswold Cemetary in Pottersville. Instead of flowers the family requests doantions be made to the Kidney Assoc. of Glens Falls Renal Center Park Street, Glens Falls, NY.
