“Nat” Stark, Dies in Denver. Was Bridge Builder Here 35 Years. Nathaniel McClure Stark, 72, pioner Iowan and widely known in the midwest as a bridge contractor and builder, died Monday at his home in Denver, Colo.
Mr. Stark, known generally as “Nat” Stark, was in the bridge contracting business in Des Moines 35 years. During this time he built bridges in Iowa and surrounding states.
Born in Indianola, Ia., Mr. Stark retired from active business 15 years ago, and later moved to Colorado. His death followed a lengthy illness.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Carrie Stark; a son, John J. Stark, and a daughter. Mrs. John H. O’Rourke, both of Des Moines; a sister, Mrs. F.W.Lehmann, St. Louis, Mo., and three grandchildren.
The body will be cremated at Denver.
