Bobby J. Scott died May 17, 2008, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis.
He was born on July 17, 1939 in Somerville, Tennessee to the late Mr. Henry and Mrs. Mary Durham Scott.
He moved to Martin early in life and worked for the late Wilson and Catherine Vaughan, laying carpet. He later sold insurance until his retirement.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Brenda Scott of Memphis; two sons, James D. (Diedre) Scott of Martin, and Michael Scott of Memphis; a sister, Mary Ann Taylor of Martin; grandchildren; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Saturday at Fuller Street Baptist Church in Dresden. Burial followed in Parham Cemetery in Martin.
