Myrtle Mae Bailey Bacon, was raised in Spring Bluff, Missouri on the family farm. Being the first girl in a large family she felt more like a farm hand at times than a daughter. During her 18th year Myrtle was ask by Roy Bacon to wait for him while he went to serve during WWI. Roy was discharged and they married January 19, 1919 at Union, Franklin Co., Missouri by T.E.
