Francis Abel Dies After Heart Attack
Francis Abel, 64, of 365 South National road, a retired employe of the Pennsylvania railroad, died unexpectedly today at his home. Cause of death was an apparent heart attack. Mr. Abel retired from the railroad in 1962 and had been an employe at Lincoln center from 1966 until the time of his death.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Reed funeral home by the Rev. Charles London. Persons may call after noon Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery.
Mr. Abel was born Nov. 18, 1906, in Columbus, the son of Frank and Nettie Long Abel. He married the former Reva Crabtree on Dec. 16, 1940, and she survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Miss Sharon Kay Abel, at home, an Mrs. Shirley Frances Holcomb of Triangle Trailer court; three brothers, Harold Abel of 910 Beechtree drive, Kenneth Abel of 1301 Twenty-fifth street, and Dwight Abel of 2535 California street; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Higgins of 2890 Nineteenth street and Mrs. Mary Holder of Hope route 1; and three grandsons.
