My Church by Rev. Kenneth S. Ehrhart

Mrs. Joanna H. (Wehrly) Myers was born February 23, 1869, and died at the home of her son, Lloyd L. Myers, in Hanover, Pa., January 9, 1953, aged 83 years, 10 months, and 16 days.
Mrs. Myers was beloved by all who knew her. Her cheerful and kind disposition had made her many friends. She was a faithful wife and good mother. She was esteemed and respected by neighbors and friends alike. She was a loyal supporter of her pastor, and was a member of St. Jacob's (Stone) Evangelical and Reformed Church for about seventy years. As long as health permitted she was a regular attendant at both the church and Sunday school sessions. Though in failing health for some time she bore her afflictions with exemplary patience, and possessed an abiding faith in her heavenly Father who doeth all things wisely and well.
The funeral services were held on Monday morning, January 12, 1953, with brief services at her late home, and concluding services at the Stone Church where her pastor preached an appropriate and comforting sermon on the two texts she had selected herself: II Cor. 5:1 and James 4:14. Rev. K. S. Ehrhart, D.D., assisted in the services. Burial was made in the Stone Church Cemetery.
