He played at the defense position for eleven seasons (1939 to 1942, 1943 to 1951) in the National Hockey League with the New York/Brooklyn Americans, Detroit Red Wings, Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. His career highlights include two-time selection to the NHL All Star Team (1942, 1949). Egan appeared in 554 career regular season NHL games and scored 77 goals. (bio by: C.S.)
