Mr. Dowden died Saturday, in an Austin, Tex. Hospital, following a brief illness. A Sabine Parish native, he was a resident of Shreveport before moving to Austin two years ago. Mr. Dowden was retired from Delta Air Lines, and a member of the Lakeview Methodist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Dowden of Austin; a daughter, Mrs. Michael Brast of Austin; eight sisters, Florence Dowden, and Mrs. O. K. Harvey, both of Shreveport, Mrs. Oma Jones, Lena Tarver, and Maggie Snell, all of Hornbeck, Bonnie Hicks of Oil City, Lucille Logan of Eunice, and Mrs. J. I. Balkum of Sweeney, Tex.; and three brothers, W. E. Dowden of Shreveport, John Dowden of Vancouver, Wash., and Dr. N. H. Dowden of Greenville, Tenn.
