William Henry "Wee Willie" Keeler
Birth: Mar. 3, 1872
Death: Jan. 1, 1923

Hall of Fame Major League Baseball Player. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was a premier ballplayer whose slogan was "Keep your eye clear, and hit 'em where they ain't". Nicknamed "Wee Willie' he made his debut as an outfielder for the New York Giants on September 30, 1892. In 19 seasons 1892 to 1910, he hit over .400 once, twice led his league in batting average and three times in hits. In 1897, he had a 44-game hitting streak, a record that has been only broken once. He ended his career with 2932 hits, only 36 strike outs, 810 runs batted in, 1719 runs scored and a .341 batting average. He was inducted into the National Baseball hall of Fame in 1939. (bio by: John "J-Cat" Griffith)
