Mrs. Alice Jane Shoemaker, 87, of Northwood, died yesterday at 5:30 p.n. at the home of her son, Charles W. Stoops, of 632 Darius St. Infirmities of age caused her death.
She is survived by four children: Mrs. Catherine Vinsonhaler of Glendora, Calif; Mrs. Bertha Caplinger of South Whitley, Ind; David Stoops of Belle Center and the son at whose home she died; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren are living.
She was born in Highland county to Mr. and Mrs. John Campbell. Her husband, Joseph E. Shoemaker lives at their home in Northwood, O. She came here eight weeks ago when her health began to fail.
Funeral plans have not been made. Friends may view the body at the M.H. Gunder funeral home on west Center street.

(Note: Her father's name was Silas, not John, as stated in her obituary and on her death certificate. The informant was her son, Charles Stoops, but he never knew his maternal grandparents -- please remember that the information on these records is only as good as the informant who provided the answers.) North Wood is an unincorporated village in Logan County, Ohio; which is where they were residing in 1930 census.
