John was the son of William and Emily (Colbert) Macaulay of Braddock Pennsylvania. John married Sophia Egloff a daughter of French born parents in 1928. They had two children. John used to drive a truck for Shipper's Dispatch with a route running between Pittsburgh and Cleveland. He moved to Cleveland Ohio in the early 1930's and met Helen Liba. In 1934 John and Helen had their first child of 12. He served in the Army in WWII as a Tech 4 at St. Vith in Belgium with the 806th Ordinance Company LT Main 103rd Infantry Division until discharged November 11th 1946. The family lived on W28th street in Cleveland at the time of his discharge. The family moved on to Parma where he worked as a Grader Operator for the City of Parma. In 1952 John and the family moved to Belden Ohio. John passed away of Cancer in 1969.

John is my Grandfather.
