Pinkney Sherrill Wehunt married Sarah Ann "Sallie" Dellinger 25 April 1897 in Lincoln County, North Carolina. They had the following children:

After the death of Sallie, he married Ophelia Dixon. The following children were born to them:

Clarence Dixon "Sam" Wehunt (1924-1994)

*The second wife of Sherrill Wehunt (Ophelia Dixon) was the informant on his death certificate. She did state that he was born in 1872 (which is correct), but she gave no month or day of his birth. She states that she does not know who his parents were (this is very hard for me to believe, because she was a very intelligent woman and her sister had also married into the Wehunt family.) The dates on his tombstone later were also blotched, but I am just leaving those dates as is on his memorial to reduce confusion.
