In 1850, the family was still living in Bradley County. There were nine children in the household: Catherine, Elizabeth, Addison, Sarah A., Mary Jane, Martha A., John, James, and Margaret. Their youngest son, Thomas, was born in 1853.
Sometime in the early 1850's the family relocated to McMinnville, Tenn. Jane died there between 1853 and 1858. There is a headstone in Shellsford Cemetery that reads "Mary Jane Pursley" with no dates. This is most probably Jane Lusby Pursley's final resting place.
Three of their daughters married into the Mowery family in Bradley County: Catherine marr. Peter Wesley Mowery; Elizabeth marr. Samuel Mowery; Martha marr. William S. Mowery. (Martha is my great-grandmother.)
After Jane's death, Alex married Harriett Hennessee in Warren County on July 18, 1858. One son, William Morton, was born to them.
