OKOLONA Annie Patterson Ellis, 90, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2000, in Okolona. She was born Dec. 4, 1909, in the Evergreen community. She was a lifelong resident of Okolona and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Okolona. She was the store manager at the Ben Franklin Store in Okolona for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Okolona Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Roy McHenry and the Rev. Billy Springer officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Cemetery in Okolona.
Survivors include her children, Bobby Ellis of Okolona, Joe Ellis of Tupelo, James "Skeet" Ellis and his wife, Nancy, of Egypt, Jerry Ellis and his wife, Gen, of Tallulah, La., Ronnie Ellis and his wife, Marilyn, of Houston, and Bettye Vinson and her husband, Dave, of Crystal Springs; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Emmett Ellis; her parents, William Woodard Patterson and Mary Elizabeth Anderson Patterson; two brothers; seven sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Ann Ellis.
Pallbearers will be Joe Ellis II, James Clyde Ellis, Joe Wesley Ellis, William Robert Ellis Jr., Jim Brown, Hayes Ellis and Chris Ellis.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
