Ellen Juanita Staples Moore, 88, Upton, Utah, passed away Friday morning, Aug 2, 2002 at her home in Upton.
She was born April 21, 1914 to Bertha Ann Wright and John William Staples in Coalville, Summit, UT. She married Edward Victor Moore Aug. 29, 1933 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died March 14, 1997. She was raised in Spring Hollow and graduated from North Summit High School. She and her husband worked side by side on their farm in Upton. They had five children. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she held many positions during her lifetime in both stake and ward, including Ward Primary, Young Women and Relief Society president. She was always serving and helping others and enjoyed music, sharing her talent at the piano, directing the ward music or singing in the choirs. She also enjoyed genealogy, quilting, and children.
She is survived by her children, Sheldon Edward (Sharmeen) Moore, Logan, Arlene (Earl) O'Driscoll, Evanston, WY, Ileane (Randall) Taylor, Kamas, Arvin Victor Moore, Upton, Doris Juanita (Ernest) Prettyman, Helper; sister, Mabel (Ralph) Anderson, Provo; and four sisters-in-law, Mary Staples, Nyssa, OR, Violet Staples Judd, Coalville; Fern Moore Black, Evanston, WY; Dorothy Moore Wilde Barkau, , Kearns; 18 grandchildren; one foster granddaughter; 38 great-grandchildren; eight great great-grandchildren; and one foster great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward; two grandchildren, Jill O'Driscoll., David Taylor; four brothers, Clifton, Paul, Rulon, Emerson Staples; and one sister, Annie S. Robinson Turner.
Services will be Tues. Aug 6, 2002, 12 noon, Coalville Stake Chapel, 40 N. Main, Coalville. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 268 S. Main, Coalville, Mon. 6-8 p.m. and Tues. 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment, Coalville City Cemetery.
