Greg B. Studdard: McMinn Wreck Fatal To Studdard
ETOWAH, Tenn. -- McMinn County recorded its first traffic fatality of the new year on Tuesday morning when an Etowah man died in a one-vehicle crash. Greg B. Studdard, 26, was traveling south on County Road 775 about five miles west of Etowah when his 1989 Ford pickup truck ran off the road and crashed into a large tree at around 3:15 a.m. The victim was trapped in the truck until rescue workers cut away some of the wreckage and removed him from it, according to Tennessee Highway Patrolman David McVey. Mr. Studdard died at 4:40 a.m. at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga after being flown there by helicopter.
