John Jacob Albright, Oklahoma City, OK, passed away on May 24, 2008, after a short illness. He was the son of Clay Dan Albright and Mary Ruth McCurry Albright. John is preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie Burke Oxford Albright. John was born on November 5, 1915, in Childress, TX, and attended school in El Reno, OK, where he met Billie. In 1936, John was runner up All State Wrestler. During his teen years, his interests gravitated toward all sorts of automobiles. To raise extra money, John would offer rides in his Model T Ford for ten cents. In later years, he collected 1962 Oldsmobiles. In 1937, Billie and John were married in the Lutheran church in Guthrie. John accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1952 at Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK. John had a passion for planting Baptist churches in the Tulsa area. He was instrumental in establishing Gracemont Baptist Church and a mission church extending from Sheridan Road Baptist Church. His calling at any church where he was a member was greeting every person who entered the building. He offered the strongest handshake, regardless of wind, rain, sun or shine. He served faithfully in this capacity the last ten years at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, OK.
