Elbert Grandison Emack, beloved son of William Emack and Ann Jackson Duke Emack (both interred in Historic Congressional Cemetry in Washington DC- R55/1 through R55/5) . Born Feb.20,1804 died Sept 12, 1886. Loving husband to Margaret(Turner) Emack. Mrs. Emack was the daughter of the Hon. James Turner and Sarah (Calder) Turner of Hartford County, MD. They were married June 29, 1837.

Mr. Emack was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention of 1867. He declined many requests to pursue public office. He was a stanuch Democrate. He also was the owner of the successful mercantile store- Hodges & Emack located on Capital Hil in Washington DC(Washington City) which was started by his father William. In 1840 after a fire that destroyed Hodges & Emack, Elbert left Washington to pursue farming in Prince George County MD on his estate of Locust Grove.
