Bert C. Abbott
Bert Cecil ABBOTT, 83, 476 East Ninth street, died Sunday at 10:55 p.m. at his home following a two-year illness. He had been seriously sick for four weeks.
Born July 29, 1877, in Fulton county, he was the son of James and Rosanna KOCHENDERFER ABBOTT and had spent most of his life in this area except for a short residence in Michigan. He was married in Fulton to Bertha COOK, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Abbott was a member of the Grace Methodist church. He once was employed as a maintenance man at The Rochester Sentinel.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. [Irene] WHISMAN, South Bend; three sons, Glenn and Arthur [ABBOTT], both of Mishawaka, and Harold [ABBOTT], Rochester; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral rites are pending. Friends may call at the Foster & Good funeral home after 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral services for Bert Cecil ABBOTT, 83, who died in his home at 476 East Ninth street Sunday, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Foster & Good funeral home.
The Rev. Ray MILLS will officiate and burial will be in the South Lawn cemetery, South Bend. Friends may call at the funeral home.
Mr. Abbott's daughter's name is Mrs. Virgil (Irene) WHISMAN, rather than Mrs. Myrtle WHISMAN as previously announced.
