Ole Barsness was born in Urness township, Douglas county, Minn., the son of Albert and Karen Barsness. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a life time member of the West Moe Lutheran church. Mr. Barsness attended district school and the Park Region Academy at Fergus Falls. His entire life was spent farming in Urness township with the exception of a short time when he lived in the state of Washington and from November 1961 when he moved to the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria. On July 31, 1909 he was united in marriage to Nellie Christopherson.
Mr. Barsness died Sunday, March 14, 1965 at the age of 86. Surviving are a daughter, (Charlotte) Mrs. Melvin Johnson of Washington, D.c., two granddaughters, two sisters, Jennie and Elvina Barsness of Urness township; two brothers, Norman of Duluth and Alfred of Urness township. He was preceded in death by his wife, three sisters and three brothers.
