Charles Theodore "Theed" Eutsler was born near Glendo, Wyoming; the 5th child, the 4th son of Charles Augusta "Charley" & Millie Leola (Husted) Eutsler. He moved with his parents when 6 years old to a homestead near Glendo, Wyoming.
In 1901 an outbreak of Scarlet Fever hit the area and many locals got veryt ill, including entire families. Charles & Millie, and their 8 children were one of the families where all of them were extremely ill and very isolated. If not for neighbors coming by to care for them their surely would have been more deaths than there were.
Charles & Millie lost 2 children to the fever that year.
18 yr old Art died on 20 Mar and 10 yr old Theed died 10 days later on 30 Mar.
In the 1940's the valley where the homestead had sat was flooded to create today's Lake Glendo. Art's remains were removed and reinterred in "Horseshoe Cem.," in Glendo; but her remains were not removed. The headstone does memorialize all 3 children.
