Son of Aaron Fisher (b. Needham, MA June 18, 1755) and Lucy (Stedman) Fisher, b. Weston, MA, November 24, 1758. Josiah moved to Dedham around 1805, where he worked in his brother Freeman's store. Around 1814 Josiah & Freeman established a bakery at Franklin Square, Dedham. He married Sally Pond on January 13, 1820. He became a colonel in the militia in 1823 and was a brigadier general at the time of his death in 1828.
