Arlin A. DeChaney, 80, a 14 year resident of East Wenatchee, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Central Washington Hospital.
He was born September 21, 1923, to Michael and Blanche (Donnahue) DeChaney at Annadale, Minnesota. He married Stella Adams in Kirkland, WA in 1963, and the couple made that city their residence until 1990. Arlin was a mechanic in heavy construction and worked all over the world including 30 years in Alaska. He was a 55 year member of the Operating Engineers Local 302 in Seattle. He was a member of the Eagles in Wenatchee.
He loved his family and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an enjoyment to his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Stella of the family home; son, Arlin Michael DeChaney and wife Amy L. of Cheyenne, Wy; and grandchildren, Michael A. and Daniel R. DeChaney of Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Charles Konkler and Hubert Konkler and a sister, Doradell Smith.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2004, at the Wenatchee Free Methodist Church. Committal services and the interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 1:00-5:00 on Monday and from 9:00-5:00 on Tuesday at Jones and Jones. Arrangements are by the Jones and Jones Funeral Home
