Died, September 20th, at her home
one half mile west of the Center, of
general debility, Miss Polly West,
widow of Washigton West, who has been
dead for many years. Miss Polly West
was born in the state of New York,
July 30, 1807, married Mr. West in 1837,
came shortly afterward to Wellington,
and in 1839 settled on the farm where
she died. Her husband died in 1869.
She has remained on the same farm,
of her son Elbert living with her. She
leaves two sons-Henry, living in Ober
lin, and Elbert in Pittsfield. Funeral
services were held at the house Thurs-
day afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. H.
Dains; interment in the south cemetery.
She was a worker in the Congregation-
al church for years and will be missed
by many friends and relatives, es
pecially by her sons and grandchild-
ren to whom she was a kind mother
and grand-mother.
