Frank Newton Houghton, graduated from Highland Military Academy of Worcester at Mass., at eighteen years of age. He then entered the large factory and business of his fathers, manufacturing boots and shoes. In 1884, he became a member of the firm of C.C. Houghton & Co. Since 1890 he has been a member of the firm of Houghton, Hibbard & Warren, manufacturing of shoes in Somersworth, New Hampshire.

On the 16 November 1887, in Denver, CO., Frank Newton Houghton, took as his bride, Miss Allie Barth, in the home of the brides parents, Moritz & Georgia A. Barth. They had no children.

FRANK N. HOUGHTON -
SHREWSBURY, April 29 - The funeral of Frank N. Houghton, 69, who died Saturday night at his home, 59 South Street, was held this morning at 10 o'clock at the late home. Rev. Dr. Vincent E. Tomlinson, pastor of the First Universalist church, Worcester, and Rev. Frederick D. Thayer, pastor of the Congregation church, officiated.
The services were private and brief, as was the wish of the deceased and consisted of the reading of favorite portions of Scripture by Dr. Frederick D. Thayer and a brief address and prayer by Dr. Tomlinson.
Following the service, the body was taken to Forest Hills for cremation and the ashes will be placed in the family mausoleum in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
