John Howard Rutsey
Birth: Jul. 23, 1952
Death: May 11, 2008

Musician. He was a drummer and founding member of the 1970s Canadian rock band Rush. Formed in Toronto during 1969, the trio also consisted of Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson. In 1974, they recorded their self-titled debut album. Rutsey departed shortly after and was replaced by Neil Peart. The group would go on to achieve much commercial success during the late 1970s and 1980s. (bio by: C.S.)
