Mr. Mullin died Thursday, May 15, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital in Topeka.
He was born March 19, 1926, in New Virginia, Iowa, the son of Earl and Norma Wilson Mullin.
Mr. Mullin served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was a printer for The Topeka Capital-Journal for 30 years and retired in 1988. He was a member of American Legion Mary L. Bair Unit 44 in Holton and Veterans of Foreign Wars Holton Memorial Post 1367.
He married Elsie L. Randall. She died May 3, 1981. He married Ferne Robinson Burley on Oct. 5, 1982. She died March 6, 2006.
Mr. Mullin was also preceded in death by a son, Robert E. Jr.
Survivors include three sons, Bill, Wichita, Richard, St. Joseph, Mo., and John, Hoyt; two daughters, Vicki Nelson, Mayetta, and Betty Hainline, Hoyt; a brother, Gene Mullin, Lawrence; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
