Publicist. In 1950, together with partner Henry C. Rogers, he founded Rogers & Cowan which became one of the world's biggest entertainment public relations firms. For over 50 years his agency has represented many major stars, including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Doris Day, Clint Eastwood, Gene Kelly, Lucille Ball, John Wayne, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor and Arnold Schwarzenegger. In addition to actors, he created publicity for Presidents Gerald Ford and Ronald Reagan, for sports events, auto, fashion, airline companies, hotels and resorts, and music entertainers such as The Doors and Elton John. In 1988, Rogers & Cowan was sold to the English conglomerate, Shandwick Plc. In 1994, Cowan launched his new company, Warren Cowan & Associates, which remains a major successful publicity business. He died of cancer.
