Dick passed away at his home May 3, 2008. He was born in Perkins, Iowa on May 25, 1915 to Gerrit and Cora (VanHofwegen) Ten Kley.
He was married to Wilhelmina (Minnie) Veenhof on February 24, 1939. They lived in Minnesota and Michigan before moving to Washington State in 1946.
Dick is survived by his wife of 69 years, children Mary Ann (Lloyd) DeVries, Judy Howell, Ellen (Jerry) Matter, Gerald (Divina), Bonnie (Larry) Miller, Linda (Jack) Wiebusch, and Don (Joan), 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, brothers Gerrit, Marvin, Clarence and sister Carol VanMersbergen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Adrian, sister Edith Wensink, granddaughters Joanne Howell and Ion (Howell) Silves, and great-grandson Michael Busby.
At his request his body was donated to research; no services will be held. The family will host an open house memorial in his honor on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the home of Jack and Linda Wiebusch.
