Roberta L. Garrett, 85, of Lexington died at 10:32 p.m. Friday (May 9, 2008) at Meadows Mennonite Home, Meadows.
She was born Sept. 11, 1922, in Chenoa, to Alvin and Lola Dawson Rhoda. She married Clifford Garrett on Feb. 2, 1946, in Chenoa. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1979.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis (Sherry) Garrett of Lexington, and Keith (Diane) Garrett of Westville; three grandchildren, Tammy (Dan) Feezor of Towanda, Brad Garrett of Fithian, and Chad (fiance Ashley Zones) Garrett of Tilton; four great-grandchildren, Michael, Kiyah, Dayton and Ashlynn; two stepgrandchildren, Kelli (Scott) Doyle and Tricia (fiance Dave Gaye) Graham; four stepgreat-grandchildren, Collin, Molly, Patrick and Kristin; two brothers-in-law, Glen Wilken of Springfield, and Dayle (Florence) Garrett, of Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Fred (Elaine) Rhoda and Charles (Mary) Rhoda, both of Chenoa; two sisters, Genevieve Colston of Springfield, and Leila (Lowell) Carlson of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents; a brother-in-law; a sister-in-law; and stepgranddaughter, Kayla, preceded her in death.
Roberta was a member of the Church of Christ Uniting and Christian Women's Fellowship, the afternoon circle, a charter member of the Fric class and was in charge of funeral meals. She was a member of the Tri-C Class and was in charge of funeral meals for many years. She was also a RSVP volunteer at Meadows Mennonite Home and Helping Hand, making tray favors for BroMenn Regional Medical Center.
Roberta had worked at the Oasis Drive-In, also in the cafeteria at the Lexington School District. She had retired from Alexander Manufacturing in Lexington.
