MONDOVI - Wanita May Adams, age 79, of Mondovi died Saturday, May 10, at the Mondovi American Lutheran Home following a lengthy battle with Lewy-Body Dementia. Wanita was born on Dec. 15, 1928, in Mondovi, a daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel (Helwig) Schultz. She attended Mondovi schools, graduating from Mondovi High School with the class of 1946. On Feb. 13, 1947, Wanita was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Adams at the parsonage of Modena Lutheran Church. Bob preceded Wanita in death on Aug. 25, 1997. Wanita was a very talented lady when it came to her crafting, cooking and baking. She will be remembered for her lovely quilts, wall hangings, rosemaling and for always having the coffee pot on with homemade doughnuts on the table. Wanita will be sadly missed by her two sons, Gary, at the veterans hospital in Tomah, and his wife, Vicki, at home in Mabel, Minn., and Randall Adams of Mondovi; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Erma) Schultz and Dale Schultz, all of Janesville; Marjorie Weissinger also of Janesville and Lorraine Jackelen of Eau Claire; also by several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Bob, a grandson, Christopher, preceded Wanita in death. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Poeschel-Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi, with private burial of cremains at Oak Park Cemetery in Mondovi, all with Rev. Dale Engen, pastor of Our Saviors United Church of Christ, officiating. Following burial, the family will have a luncheon and memorial gathering at the Poeschel-Talbot funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to "Family Wishes" are preferred.
