Tamarah Lynn "Tami" Tracy, 48, of Oblong, died at 8:15 p.m. on Mother's Day, Saturday, May 10, 2008, at her residence.

Tami was born November 9, 1959, in Sardis, Miss., the daughter of Melvin and Becky (Schmittler) Hunley. She lived most of her life in Richland County, Illinois where most of her family were from. She married Kit Tracy on December 17, 1989.

She was a homemaker and was a member of Oblong First Christian Church in New Hebron, and Christian School PTO, and Friends of the Oblong Library. She was involved with Oblong Children's Christian Home and was a 1977 graduate of East Richland High School. Tami enjoyed gardening, flowers, photography, arts in general and her children's activities.

She is survived by her husband, Kit Tracy, of Oblong; her mother, Becky Hunley, of Bridgeport; a son, Brennan Tracy, at home; a daughter, Jade Tracy, at home; two brothers, Tim Hunley and his wife, Stacey, of Olney; and Tony Hunley, of Bridgeport; three sisters, Connie Hunley and her husband, Jim Bingman, of Altamont, Jennifer Purvis and her husband, Greg, of Mize, Miss., and Cris Ebeling, of Olney; mother-in-law, Dawn Tracy, of Oblong; two brothers-in-law, Robin Tracy and his wife, Jan, of Aledo, Texas; and Derek Tracy and his wife, Gina, of Oblong; one sister-in-law, Deb Martinie and her husband, Dan, of Normal; a grandmother, Wilma Schmittler-Scott of Hagerstown, Ind., and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, two infant siblings, three grandparents, and father-in-law, Mervin Wayne Tracy.

Visitation will be held at 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Oblong First Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Kirk Cemetery in rural Robinson. Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong is handling arrangements.
