John William Lackey, 83, a retired farmer of Mountain Home, died last Thursday at the Baxter General Hospital. A native and lifetime resident of Baxter County, he was born July 28, 1888, the son of William Lackey and Elmina Adams Lackey.

Survivors include four sons, Wiley and J. W. of Mountain Home and Richard and Gordon Lackey of Lakeview; two daughters, Mrs. Arlien King of Mountain Home and Mrs. Maxine Hickman of Garfield, Kans.; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. His wife, Mrs. Cora Lackey, died Oct. 10, 1947.

Services were conducted Saturday at the Galatia Methodist Church with Bro. Henry I. Stone officiating. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the McClure-Smith Service.

Pallbearers were Roe Whitfield, Chester Parnell, Jack Whitfield, Ralph Parnell, Gene Adams and L. D. Adams.
