Robert John Clark was born in Ohio to Helen Mory (a first-generation American of Swiss descent), and Fred Clark (a first-generation American of Canadian, German, Belgian, Irish, Dutch, English, and Native American -Mohawk- descent).
He moved to California, where he was the vice-president of 'Colonial Dámes Co.' a company believed to be the oldest skin care and cosmetic company in the United States. He married twice, first to Imogene Scalph in July 1944, then to Mildred Godwin. He had two children with his first wife: Deborah, born April 1950; and Robert John Jr., born July 1945.
He enjoyed comedy, entertaining, sailing, gardening, traveling, and reading, but most of all he enjoyed making people laugh. He passed away in California at the age of 78, leaving behind an ex-wife, widow, two children, and five grandchildren: Samantha, Brad, Mitchell, Maddy, and Dewey.
Cremated, Ashes scattered at sea.
Specifically: It is believed ashes were scattered at sea by son Robert John Jr.
