Born in Kentucky, Simrall was Confederate Lieutenant Governor of Kentucky and later chief justice of the Mississippi Supreme Court. the Church building was moved from Davis Island. There is pretty good evidence that Jefferson Davis and the Davis family, along with the Simralls and the Bobbs attended Services in that building. He was heavily involved in that very historic building and is no doubt buried around there some where, I would think in the a Glass family lot, That location was known as Glass on the Rail Road from the 1880s until the arrival of Letourneau soon after 1940. The Glass Family donated the land for the Church, the lot is still today as it was in the 1890s..
