OBITUARY-THE PAWNEE CHIEF
APRIL 14, 1911
MRS. ISAAC BROCK
Mrs. Isabell Kennedy was born in Ryegate, Vt., Sept. 25, 1834, and died at the home of her daughter near Pawnee City April 8, 1911.
She had reached the ripe old age of 76 years, 6 months and 25 days. She was married to Isaac Brock, March 8, 1875. He passed to his eternal home Dec. 23, 1901. To this union were born two daughters. For some years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John F. Martin, who lives two miles east of Pawnee City. For about one year Mrs. Brock had been in failing health, and relatives and friends did all that could be done to make her last days comfortable.
Mrs. Brock came to Pawnee county in 1867, where she engaged in teaching school and since that time her life was spent here, and she made a host of friends who will greatly miss her. When young she gave her heart to Christ and was always an earnest, devoted Christian. She leaves two daughters, and one step-daughter, five step-sons, an aged step-sister and twenty-four grandchildren to mourn her departure.
A short funeral service was conducted at the house by Rev. L. B. Parker, where a large concourse of friends met to pay their last tribute of respect. Her body was laid to rest by the side of her husband in West Branch cemetery.
The children desire to express their sincere thnaks to all who so thoughtfully assisted them during the illness and burial of their mother, and who so kindly remember her in so many ways during the fourteen years of her blindness, and for the many beautiful flowers.
