Husband of Isabelle Kennedy and Nabby Sevilla (Cook). Enlisted at Marshalltown, Iowa on July 30, 1861 as a Private with Co. B. 2nd Regiment, Iowa Cavalry and was mustered out on October 3, 1864 at Davenport, Iowa as a Sergeant.
OBITUARY-THE PAWNEE REPUBLICAN
JANUARY 2, 1902
At his home six miles southwest of this city, December 28, 1901, Isaac Brock, aged about 78 years.
Mr. Brock was an old settler of this county, locating in West Branch precinct at an early day, where he had since made his home except at short intervals when he made his home in this city. mr. Brock was an old soldier of the Union army, serving in the Second Iowa Cavalry for more than three years. After his discharge from this service he removed to this state and county, where he lived for nearly 37 years. he was a highly esteemed and an honorable citizen, who won many friends by his cheerful disposition and hearty good-will twords everybody, notwithstanding his affliction, sustained by long and arduous army life in behalf of his country. Many are the people here-abouts who were always who were always glad to see "Uncle Ike" and grasp his honest hand.
He was of the most amiable disposition and counted his friends by the hundreds.
Funeral services were held at his late home on Tuesday, december 24th inst., being conducted by Rev. R. J. McCready of this city, after which the remians were conveyed to this place and disposed in the city cemetery.
The bereaved wife and children are extended the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends and acquaintances, all of whom mourn the loss of a good friend and valued citizen.
