Kenneth P. Lockhart

Kenneth (Kenny) Lockhart, 50, of Rockport, loving brother and uncle, departed this life Aug. 11, 2007, at St. Joseph?s Hospital.

Kenny was a friend of everyone he met and will be greatly missed. He loved gospel music, watching races and spending time with family. He collected belt buckles and Matchbox cars.

Kenny was born April 8, 1957, to the late Carl C. and Thelma Gail (Low) Lockhart at East Liverpool, Ohio. He attended school at Lisbon, Ohio, in his early years. After moving to West Virginia, he attended Sumner School till he graduated in 1982. Kenny worked at Sheltered Workshop (SW Resources) until 2001 after his graduation. He was a member of the Lowdell UM Church, where he attended faithfully.

He is survived by his five sisters, Barbara J. Lockhart (who he lived with); Margaret Ann Benson and her husband, Vernon, of Rockport; Marie E. Floyd and her husband, Robert, of Parkersburg; Pastor Vera Archer of Rockport; and Carla Harvey and her husband, Paul, of Belleville. Five nieces, 10 nephews and several great-nieces and nephews also survive Kenny.

His parents and one brother-in-law, Pastor Dean Archer, preceded Kenny in death.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lowdell United Methodist Church in Rockport, W.Va., with Kenny?s sister Pastor Vera Archer officiating. Burial will follow in Pond Creek Baptist Cemetery in Rockport. Visitation for Kenny will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services Wednesday at the church.

Kenny was an inspiration to his family members. He taught us how to love unconditionally and never to hold grudges. He loved and lived his life as an example for all to see. Kenny has left a void in the family?s lives that will never be filled.
