Raymond Hunley, 87, of Clay City, died at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 1987, at the Flora Care Center.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Hosselton, Bookhout and Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City Cemetery.

Mr. Hunley was born on Jan. 6, 1900, in Clay City, the son of Charles and Minnie (Cockerel) Hunley. He married Alva Wallace in 1924. He was a retired Joliet State Prison officer and a member of the Clay City United Methodist Church.

Survivng are his wife; one daughter, Norma Daniel of Walled Lake, Mich.; three sisters, Doris Franklin, Marie Brown and Ruby Weaver, all of Clay City; five grandchildren and four great-grandchldren.

He was born in Clay City, the son of Charles & Minnie Cockerel Hunley. He married Alva Wallace May 28, 1924 in Louisville, IL.

He was a member of the Clay City Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Norman Daniel; three sisters Doris Franklin, Marie Brown, & Ruby Weaver, all of Clay City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Services were held in the Clay City Chapel of Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home with the Rev. Novman Sloan presiding.

Burial was in the Clay City Cemetery.
